This light and camera work specifically as described. Purchased on Amazon for $78 w/ no cost shipping. Motion sensor operates up to 40-feet, and the 100-watt halogen bulb lights up - just like any other light you'd obtain at your neighborhood residence improvement store. Add to it a handy safety camera and you've got a good item.
Pros:
1) Works as advertised.
2) Disregard silver_diamond2007's 1-star "critique" and youtube video about interference with wifi. When I e-mailed him if or not he altered broadcast channels on the unit to steer clear of interference with his router, his reply was "How do you transform channels?" Sigh... All that time to write a unfavorable assessment and make a youtube video, and no time to READ THE MANUAL to resolve the predicament. This light has four broadcast channels, which can be altered on the light by removing the rubber cover on the light's bottom side, and moving the switch. I tested it, and channel two interfered with my Linksys G router, but channels 1, three, and 4 had no problems at all.
3) The video does not "washout/whiteout" when it's dark and the floodlight suddenly turns on.
four) The camera also transmits AUDIO.
Cons: (why I removed 1 star)
1) There's no mounting gasket (as other lights have) between the wall and the back of the unit, so the elements can get seep in behind. If you are installing it on a flat surface, it is not that huge a deal, but stucco is a distinctive matter. Either way, I'd put a bead of caulk around the edge to maintain the components out.
two) There's a dial to adjust the sensitivity of the photosensor, but there's no dial to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor itself. The directions say to adjust the position of the motion sensor, but that is not often an alternative for your application mainly because you'd be changing the angle of the camera as well.
This is the coolest thing I have purchased in a lengthy time. I didn't attach it to the residence like instructions say. I attached it to a board, wired a male three prong plug onto it, used a hook on the back and now I can put it anywhere an extension cord will reach. I hung it by the Hummingbird feeder,and now I can watch what's going on outside on my Tv! At night I can hang it anyplace that I want a security light and camera. I adore this thing and am going to order two significantly more! I have not had it quite extended, (1 wk). If it quits operating I will update this assessment.
