Bought this final week for an upcoming trip to Europe for use as an added measure of safety in the hotel rooms we are staying in. Received extremely quick implementing Amazon Prime.
Tested this transportable lock in my residence with 2 diverse doors and works wonders! With this lock on, it will make it extremely tricky for an intruder to come in to your room. Though the red piece is plastic it is reinforced with a metal plate underneath it which makes it certainly solid! This tends to make the entire transportable lock produced of metal! As soon as installed, it was tough for me to go in the household. I believe that I would have to kick the door in to jar this portable lock loose.
Terrific extra measure of safety! I will sleep much better realizing that even if an intruder manage to pick the locks of my hotel area, they would have to kick the door in to open it with this portable lock in spot!

When it fits, it offers a sturdy barrier, swift to place on or remove. It can be specifically helpful when renting holiday homes or condos exactly where some realtors, property managers, or maintenance guys tend to enter without the need of even knocking at times. Also several persons seem to have keys, and feel entitled to enter whenever they please, at such places. However, it only fits regular doors, and only when the door and lock fit the frame perfectly.
I have never been able to use it at a hotel, and as well quite often find it won't perform in common doors. Regrettably, housekeeping and maintenance staff have keys to ALL locks, even deadbolts, and can even get into rooms with safety bars without difficulty. I would like to see a new version of this for hotels, and some change that would make it less difficult to use on "imperfect" doors.
